A Life In Acts

“If you look closely enough, you will find that a life, however wild, and however many lives are within it, is simply a map of all the things we dared, or were called to become.”

Aruna Shields

I. Feral Child

Half British, half Indian I was born in England and grew up on a farm in Northumberland. My mother was a British NHS nurse; my father was a surgeon and Indian sage. I was a feral child who enjoyed breeding insects and frogs, practicing gymnastics, and communicating with animals. One of my first experiences of transcendence occurred while staring into the eyes of a snake.

II. Unconventional Convent School Girl

Educated in England, I attended La Sagesse Convent School, where I performed in plays and earned a distinction from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. I later attended Durham Boarding School before studying at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. As a student I won Miss India Talent.

III. Saris, Snakes and Cinema Screens

While at university I belly danced with snakes at high profile events, and was spotted on the London tube becoming one of the first women of Indian origin to enter mainstream fashion modeling. My pivot to cinema was equally serendipitous—spotted in a gym by an agent, this launched a career that meandered between the UK, French, and Indian film industries. Among my lead roles, I played India’s version of Bond in Prince—a gritty cavewoman in the French film AO: The Last Hunter, and an artist’s muse in the arthouse film Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta. I am also known for the Bollywood hit song "Tere Liye," that has collected over 400 million views.

IV. A Quiet Rebellion

In 2010, I was named a Google Zeitgeist 'fastest-rising star' and invited to shoot for Vogue—before an unexpected awakening pulled me into a decade of deep meditation, integration, connection to my fathers Nāga lineage and intensive study of the mind. I became certified in Hypno-Psychotherapy and Mindfulness, set up a private practice in California and supported clients in Malibu addiction rehabs. I also pioneered the first global online meditation group for Sidhas (highly advanced meditators).

V. In Progress

In 2026 I returned to London and am currently tending to a select circle of gifted private clients, weaving together a lifetime of lessons while quietly brewing a collection of eclectic creative projects—the kind best kept under wraps until they are ready to emerge.

I often tell clients the most important step is to discover who they are and show up fully and unapologetically, learning to listen to the quiet, creative impulses that arise from within.
